Uncover Your Straight Texture
Hair that has a naturally unbending pattern. Straight textures can have fine, medium, or coarse strands.
Identifying straight hair tends to be somewhat straightforward in terms of pattern. It can range from pin-straight strands to a gently straight-wavy shape as it approaches the wavy portion of the spectrum. It typically lies flat against the head, and is known for being smooth and shiny. Not sure if you have straight or wavy hair? Visit the wavy texture page!
In its natural state, straight textures are easily managed but can be resistant to holding up-dos or curly styles created by heat-styling. What’s less straightforward, and part of what makes individual textures so unique, is the other contributor of texture: strand thickness.
Texture goes beyond your hair’s pattern and encompasses the thickness of each strand, or cuticle, of hair. Straight textures can have fine, medium, or coarse strands.
Knowing the components that make up your unique texture is important. These characteristics can help you navigate which products work best with your hair.

Straight Hair Rules
Suds are your friend
Avoid an oily scalp with a sulfate-free, non-stripping, sudsing shampoo. Focus it on your scalp to help your roots achieve volume without drying out your ends.
For finer hair, gently cleanse every day.
For medium to coarse hair, gently cleanse every 2-3 days.
Heat protectant—a must
Say goodbye to dry locks, split ends, and breakage with a lightweight heat protectant!
A good heat protectant will protect your hair from heat styling, dullness, and frizz so your tresses keep flowing.
Try: Blow it All Out
Keep it simple
Straight textures are susceptible to oily, weighed down hair that can feel greasy due to their unbending, flowing pattern.
On a single day use a maximum of four products. A gentle shampoo, lightweight conditioner, and minimal styling products will help your crown shine.
